Therapy offers a supportive space to better understand and manage life’s challenges, improve relationships, and promote emotional well-being.
Individual Therapy focuses on helping a person explore thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to reduce distress and improve functioning. Common concerns may include anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, and identity development.
Family Therapy supports families in strengthening communication, resolving conflict, and working through issues together. It can be especially helpful during times of grief, parenting challenges, behavior concerns in children or teens, or ongoing family stress.
Couples Therapy helps partners improve their relationship through better communication, conflict resolution, and emotional connection. It may address issues such as recurring arguments, trust concerns, or major life changes.
All services are provided by the Township’s Master’s-level therapists, who collaborate with individuals and families to determine goals and support meaningful change. Outpatient Therapy Services are available to Hanover Township residents, including youth ages 0 - 26 and adults with children under 18 in the home. Please call (630) 483-5799 for further information.

Psychiatric Evaluation
Sometimes in the course of therapy services a need for psychiatric evaluation for a family member arises. Through a linkage agreement with AMITA Behavioral Health Outpatient Group Practice in Hoffman Estates, a Township therapist can refer a child, adolescent, or parent for psychiatric evaluation. The cost of the visit and any follow-up visits not covered by the client's insurance can be subsidized by the Township. This valuable service is possible through funding from the Hanover Township Mental Health Board.
